Questions
Do shipowners pay anything upfront?
No. Listing a vessel is free. We charge a 2% success fee only when the deal closes.
What happens after the free trial?
Before your 14-day trial ends we contact you to set up the membership. Your access continues once the membership is confirmed.
Can I contact owners directly?
Owner contact goes via ShipScout. This protects both the owner and the broker, and keeps every introduction on record.
What does the deal desk cover?
Contracts and NCNDA, payment and escrow handling, legal support and delivery coordination. It is included in the 0.5% fee members pay on closed deals.
When do co-brokers pay the 0.5% deal fee?
Only when a deal for a vessel introduced through ShipScout closes with your participation. It is calculated on the deal value and payable on completion, as set out in the member terms you sign when you request access.
Which yards do you work with?
Only yards that hold a Hong Kong Convention statement of compliance or are on the European List of ship recycling facilities.
